About the Artist
Yuki Tanaka grew up in Kyoto before moving to London to study at the Royal College of Art, eventually settling in Hampstead where the proximity to the Heath provides a constant source of natural subject matter. Her photographic practice is deeply influenced by Japanese aesthetics, particularly the wabi-sabi appreciation of transience and imperfection. Working with both film and digital processes, Yuki creates contemplative still life and landscape images characterised by soft, desaturated tones and careful negative space. Her work has been shown at The Photographers' Gallery, Japan House London, and Photo London. She was awarded the Foam Talent Award in 2023 and her prints are held in private collections across Japan and Europe.
