Priya's path to photography began through painting — she studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths before discovering that the camera allowed her to capture the same qualities of light and colour with an immediacy that painting couldn't match. Based in Peckham since 2018, she works from a shared studio where she creates both camera-based abstractions and experimental darkroom prints. Her technique involves multiple exposures, intentional camera movement, and hand-tinting, resulting in images that sit somewhere between photography and painting. Priya's work has been shown at South London Gallery, Copeland Gallery, and was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2022. She teaches experimental photography workshops at Peckham Levels.
