Oscar Mendez has been photographing the landscapes of South East England for over a decade, with a particular focus on the Thames Estuary and the Kent and Essex coastlines. Based in Greenwich, he is drawn to the liminal spaces where the city gives way to marshland, mudflat, and open water. His images capture the subtle drama of these transitional landscapes, the way light moves across estuary water, the silhouettes of industrial structures against vast skies. Oscar studied Photography at the London College of Communication and works with both large-format film and high-resolution digital systems. His series 'Estuary' won the Landscape Photographer of the Year Award in 2024 and has been exhibited at the Royal Geographical Society.
