Nina arrived in Brighton after completing an MFA at Goldsmiths, drawn by the city's creative energy and proximity to the sea. Her practice evolved from painting into something harder to categorise: works that incorporate torn fabric, sand, wax, and metal leaf alongside oil and acrylic paint. She builds her canvases in dozens of layers, sanding back between applications to reveal ghostly strata beneath. The resulting surfaces are rich with incident and invite close inspection. Nina exhibits widely on the South East circuit and has been shortlisted twice for the Jerwood Painting Prize.
