French-born and Camberwell-based, Elise Moreau's photography draws as much from surrealist painting as it does from the photographic tradition. Her work often involves careful staging, found objects, and in-camera techniques that create images with an uncanny, dreamlike quality. She studied at École des Beaux-Arts in Paris before completing an MA at Camberwell College of Arts. Elise's practice sits firmly in the fine art tradition — each image is conceived as a singular artwork rather than part of a documentary record. Her prints are produced in strictly limited editions and have been acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum and Saatchi Collection. She was a finalist for the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize in 2023.
